Christmas Concert Tonight

To all families: Please bring your child to the school by 6pm for the Christmas concert.  THEY WILL NOT BE GOING TO OUR CLASSROOM - The students are to go to Mrs. Redwood's classroom in Room. 51.  From the front doors of the school you walk straight down past the washrooms, through the double doors and then turn right.  It is the first and only classroom in that short strip of the hallway.  I am not able to be at the concert tonight due to a previous family engagement; however, Mrs. McIntosh will be leading our class into the gym for the concert when they are called upon.  You may pick up your child after the concert in the same classroom. Ms. Thompson has asked that all children be wearing red or green or a combination. Thank you, Julie

Recyclables and New Weekly Words

Recyclables and New Weekly Words Hello families, This is a reminder to send in recyclables for the gingerbread man traps.  We will start building them with our buddy class this Friday, and to date, we are extremely short of supplies.  We need cardboard boxes (kleenex, cereal, etc.), straws, string, twist ties, any plastic recyclable containers, popsicle sticks.  Anything would be greatly appreciated. This Thursday is the Xmas concert for our class.  I sent out tickets last week - 2 to each family.  Remember that some of your family can attend the afternoon concert if you were not able to get any extra tickets.  Also, if you will not be able to attend the concert, please send in your tickets ASAP so that other families may use them. Christmas Giving Gift Bags

Good evening families, Thank you to those families that sent back the ziplock baggie full of items.  I now have about 10 returned, so this is a reminder that if you wish to participate, please send in the items ASAP.  They were due today and must be delivered to those schools by next Tuesday.  In the mean time, we need to prepare the gift bags, get them filled, and make cards for them.  The students will be doing all the work, decorating the bags tomorrow or Monday, as well as, making little gift cards and stuffing the bags.  It is wonderful to see them involved in such a project that helps them learn more about empathy and kindness. Please send back the bag regardless of whether or not you wish to participate as we still need to fill those bags as they are students and grade specific for that school. Thanks, Julie

Request for Recyclables

In a weeks time, Room 71 will be joining our grade 2 buddies, Mrs. Weldrick's class, to create gingerbread man traps for an engineering challenge.  We would appreciate any items to help us complete this project successfully.  We welcome any recyclable material such as cereal boxes/cardboard, including paper rolls and any other items you think would work well.  We welcome donations of straws, popsicle sticks, string, etc. Thank you! Ms. Klein & Mrs. Weldrick

Xmas Giving from Cranston Students and Their Families
